Married in Hempen green

One sunny day, in July 1999, Jim & Evey took the plunge in true green style, by becoming married in hemp!

Instead of rice, the couple were showered with hemp seed, a painful moment in an otherwise happy day.

Eco-Alchemical Marriage:

Evey's dress was created using a blend of a lightweight hemp fabric, coloured with lime green vegetable dyes.

In addition, a hemp-silk blend, layered and overlaid onto the kernel of the bodice (her mother's wedding dress) finished the creation.

Jim wore a tailored suit of herringbone-weave hemp canvas, coloured with emerald green vegetable dyes and lined with a blend of hemp-silk.
